our impact

“the course was brilliant... I was treated both as a human being and an individual... it has given me back a lost confidence and desire to re-engage with my life and the community”

programmes delivered

Since our inception in 2016 we have delvered over 50 programmes from our centre in Letchworth.

All our programmes are targeted to meet the on-going challenges faced by some of the most vulnerable individuals in our community.

individuals supported

We have supported over 300 individuals through our programmes, activities and mentoring provision.

We enable people to make sustainable change to themselves, their day to day lives and utlimately their prospects for employment.

ready for life

This FREE course is ideal for anyone in Hertfordshire who wants to have the space and support to re-engage with their life, with people and with the community and gain clarity on purpose and motivation for the future.  We welcome people wherever they are at in their adult life journey.

preparing for work

This FREE course is aimed at anyone in Hertfordshire who is looking to make the transition into, or back into, employment.  designed to provide you with the belief, confidence and skills to help you secure your next step to employment.

Hub drop-in

We recognise that programmes can be a great injection of skills, belief and and a new found enthusiasm.  With this in mind we run a drop-IN session every week for anyone who is looking for someone to simply listen to their journey and gently help them rediscover the next steps to their chosen destination.

foundations for work

This is a great initiative funded by our friends at settle where we have been given the opportunity to provide tailored 1 to 1 to help their tenants lead more self-sufficient, fulfilling lives and support them in taking those difficult steps back to more regular, permanent employment.

big projects …

We are fortunate to be involved in some really great projects and initiatives … collaborating with some wonderful partners and people.

Building Better Opportunities …

The project is part of the ‘Building Better Opportunities’ programmes funded jointly by The Big Lottery with match funding from the European Social Fund. There are three strands of the program which comprise STRIVE in Hertfordshire (Barriers to Employment); MILE in Hertfordshire (Financial Confidence) and Youth Futures (Young People).

Foundations for Work

As a proud provider of social housing, settle manages over 9,000 properties across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

Our purpose at settle is to help people who are struggling to find a place to live. We help our customers to stay in their homes comfortably, so that they can live the life they choose.

Our social purpose drives everything we do at settle. For some of our residents this means we are able to provide extra help where it’s needed most to help them secure employment, manage their finances and tackle loneliness.

We are delighted to be able to partner with Create Community Network and provide residents with specialist extra support on their journey into work and to help them to sustain successful employment.

get involved …

become a volunteer

Are you looking for an opportunity to give something back? Are you looking for an opportunity to gain some valuable experience and build your confidence as part of your journey back to employment?

We’d really like to help you if we can and where we don’t currently have an opening we’ll happily try and make something happen. All within a small, friendly and supportive environment.

join our advisory board

As a organisation committed to serving the community we’re naturally keen to ensure we continually meet our remit, adhere to our values and genuinely behave and govern in a way that meets (and exceeds) the expectations of a modern 3rd sector venture.

To help us in delivering on our commitment we are looking for individuals with relevant skills and experience who can support our thinking and management together with helping us shape our path going forward.

play a supporting role

As a small organisation we are not of a sufficient size to enjoy the comfort of being able to employ full time staff in the typical core functional areas of a business. With this in mind, we are always looking for experienced individuals who share our values and can offer us support in those core areas, either on a voluntary basis or at a subsidised market rate.
